I’ve finally found a good purpose for the paper roses I’ve made.
My inspiration for this card was a video on YouTube by ItsyBitsy.
Instead of using a die to cut the roses, I created them by using paper quilling technique.
The paper weaving effect
of the basket was also way easier than I imagined it to be.
The small roses are made with 0.5cm strips and the bigger roses with 1cm strips. I also alternated the “un-coiling” of the roses for a more natural look.
The tutorial I’d found on YouTube gave me a good starting point but I used my quilling tool to make them rounder.
I’ve found the ones in the tutorial too square for this design.
The roses are glued down with sticky strip (the red kind) to make sure they’re well secured.
I added some sparkles to the “heart” of the roses with glitter glue and used my label maker to create a silk looking ribbon.
This post needed two pictures, because with flash you can see the glitter better but the card looks emptier than without flash.
I really enjoyed this little paper project and am very pleased with the result.
Take care and hope I’ll find the time to speak to you soon. Enjoy your weekend!
