Warm winter wishes part 3

My Christmas cards are finished. It took me sooo much longer than I anticipated, 3 nights plus 1 full day!! Because I specifically wanted to use my Silhouette Cameo, I made a terrible judgement call by using a scanned sentiment as diecut instead of using a the stamp. It is so intricate what makes it very time consuming to peel off the cutting-mat AND find the right placement AND glue without the whole project being covered in glue stains… But as you can see, it absolutely works to scan you stamp and customize or re-size.  Also totally didn’t think about filling the negative spaces for the svg diecuts. I had to make 35 red squares to fill the blank space in the cup/mug and 35 brown strips for the coffee/cocoa (or really dark tea).  Still have to mail them, so hope they will reach the recipients in time.

Another tip, don’t set a deadline for yourself when you have your wisdom-tooth removed. No words how awful that made me feel, yuk. ..

Back to the card! I decided to make tags instead of a double card, just to switch it up. For making 35 cards/tags, I used;
Free svg from Silhouette Online Store, 10 pattern papers from Merrymint by American Crafts, 5 colors solid cardstock, 4 ribbons, natural twine, foam tape, tacky glue, score tape, stapler, scissors, regular hole punch, star punch, Project Life corner rounder and Fiskars paper trimmer.

Anyway, see the image below to see all the patterns used and to see the different styles of the cards/tags. I replaced the free sentiment of the free svg with a scanned stamped image from Lawn Fawns’ Love you a Latte stamp set. So, “warm winter wishes” is now “warm wishes” in a steam shape, so cute!

A quick tip if your looking for crafty inspiration for Christmas: The Holiday Idea book from Echo Park is a real must and free download (click here to visit their website for download) I also uploaded this card to the Anything Goes Challenge on Silhouette Challenges. Hope to find the time to use my Cameo more and post crafty creations more often.

That’s it for now. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the holidays!
