2015 Goals Art Journal Page

2015 Goals – Bulb and Bubbles

Hello again! I was on a roll this week and besides the Zodiac Sheep page I created a “2015 Goals Art Journal Page”.

Supplies I used
* Faber Castell Gelatos (Cotton Candy, Lavender, Grape, Silver Ice)
* Baby Whipes
* Faber Castell Big Brush / Pitt artist pen (Cobalt Blue, Black)
* Faber Castell Gesso
* Papermania heat gun
* Uni Posca Paint Markers
* Liquitex matte gel medium
* Hema Stamps
* Dovecraft Essentials Alphabet stamps
* WOW! Funky Border Strips stamp
* Washi tape
* Star punch

Page one: Goals main page
For this page I used an old Cosmo magazine. I cut out some articles for the background, some letters for my title, number as embellishments and the light bulb.

After adhering the article cutouts randomly on my page with Matte Medium, I covered everything with Gesso. I used a heat gun to dry the Matte Medium before applying the Gesso and dried the Gesso with a heat gun as well. Working lightest to darkest, I colored the background using Gelatos blue, pink and purple and blended the colors using a baby wipe.

To add some extra details I added stamped border pieces and a toilet paper roll dipped in Gesso for the bubbles. I colored the bubbles using a silver metallic Gelato. Then I added the rest of the cutouts, covering the light bulb with a light wash of Gesso mixed with water. To make the white on the bubbles and the quotes really standout, I used my white paint marker. Lastly I added some stars to make both pages match.

Page two: Journaling page
For the joined page I added a piece of lined notepad-paper for the background and glue it down with Matte Medium. I used simple embellishments since the purpose of this page is like a smashbook page, I will keep adding notes to it as the year progresses.

I really love all the products I used. All brands are high quality and the products are so versatile. In the large photo, you can really see the shimmer of the silver Gelato and the crisp bright white marker easily writes over all those layers. After making the picture, I could wait to start writing my goals down. The year just started an my journal page is already more than three-quarters full. I guess it was necessary haha!

That’s it for now. I hope you like it as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend. Take care and see you next time!
